Meeting Minutes

The Auditorium Neighbourhood Association was organized in 1990 as part of an initiative by Bryan Stortz, then city councillor for the Kitchener Centre Ward that included the Auditorium Neighbourhood. The intent at the time was to ensure that the community and City worked together more effectively.

We’ve been going strong ever since and are recognised in Kitchener as an effective, dedicated group.

We’ accomplished much over the years; here are some highlights:

In hopes of protecting the residential character of our neighbourhood from commercial intrusion, we have spent many hours with the City Council and in community meetings. A few of the many wins are these:

  • Avoiding the Rezoning for a halfway house on East.

  • Preserving the character of the neighbourhood with the Smiles n Chuckles development.
  • Established a grid-pattern of stop signs throughout the neighbourhood to ensure a safer community.  Preventing vehicles from using the neighbourhood as a high speed "short cut"

  • Preventing residential areas from becoming re-zoned commercial.

These are just a few of our accomplishments over the years. We hope you’ join us as we continue our tradition of positive action in our neighbourhood and community.
